In most of Monk’s recordings of this tune the drums lead with an intro and continue to dominate throughout the song. My version has no drums and as a result sounds quite different, although the uke is playing the full piano part. I may try adding a drum track in the future.
Monk recorded a solo piano version on his last studio album, the London Collection, which I provide a link to. It has a noticeably different feeling than the version with drums, much more solemn.
